As it turns out, 2024 was another version of 2023, so I welcome 2025 with open arms. Serves me right for saying it couldn’t be worse!
Quick recap
The usual tongue in cheek review of the last couple of years.
- 2019 would bring positive change, offering hope for a joyful and focused year (kinda).
- 2020 if you held true to your goals, you’d enjoy your destiny (mostly true for me).
- 2021 a 20-year phase of change that might be considered lucky (um, not really).
- 2022 clashes between traditional and innovative views, challenging ideas of comfort and stability (not for me, but perhaps the rest of the planet).
- 2023 a year of global doom and gloom (four horseman kind of thing) with personal blossoming and goal getting (yeah, not so much).
Goodbye 2024
The 2024 horoscopes predicted government changes, and given there were a lot of elections, that’s certainly the case. It seems like almost all the major world governments changed sides.
And seemingly once in a lifetime changes in careers, relationships and personal growth, though I’m not sure I noticed that. Well, not for me anyway.
Somewhere between having to replace the floors, and the rest of the home renovations, which didn’t feature much here on the blog, I didn’t notice much in the way of major changes for me.
Wasn’t as “work” busy as last year, but still managed to write 11 short stories and a novella, publish 3 short stories and a different novella, and submit 67 stories to magazines and contest.
Long listed for the Furphy Literary Award, and shortlisted for the Stringybark Short Story Awards, “winning publication in the Crowd Surfing Anthology.
So a bit of a career success, and a bit of a career loss…
Welcome 2025
According to my mooch around the 2025 horoscopes:
This year will be “wild.” With unprecedented happenings, we’ll connect with our inner selves, giving us the courage to go after out desires. Pouring our whole hearts into the pursuit, setting up structures and maybe seeking out new inventions to help. In some ways, like a cosmic factory reset.
And for Pisces in particular, we’ll get comfortable with uncertainty… Though I suppose it’s about time. Seemingly a good year for work, and there’ll be finances to make practical decisions about! Can’t wait for that one.
As for me
This year’s goals:
- write more
- sell more
- grow my audience
And I’ll work with quarterly plans again. Have already planned out the first quarter which mostly consists of catching up with the last six months of scheduled “work.”
How is your 2025 looking?
So wish me luck! And good luck to you.
