I’m so excited! Australia Felix, my passion project is coming soon – set for release at the end of August.
I hinted at the work on this in May 2021, so it’s been a long road getting here. I even had to learn a whole new suite of design tools! I’ll have to do another book lile this to make them worthwhile!
A unique life story captured in watercolour
In sorrow and joy, good times and bad, Australia Felix is the fish-out-of-water story of one man’s attempt to live the Great Australian Dream in early colonial Melbourne.
In a a series of quirky and hilarious autobiograhical illustrations, Edward Wilson chronicles his encounters with various people and events that help him find his feet, living on the newest frontier down under.
Edward Wilson (1813-1878) was the co-owner and editor of The Argus newspaper from 1848 until he died in 1878. He was also a philanthropist, contributing funds to the Royal Melbourne Hospital (where I received my transplant), University of Melbourne and other charitable organisations.
