In a rare break of sunshine, we did a little yard work.
A bit of pruning, and weeding, and lawn mowing. It’s amazing how much better the garden looks with a freshly mown lawn.
And how much calmer you feel looking out over it.
It must shake up the lawn dwelling creatures as well – the magpies seemed very happy rooting through the cuttings the lawnmower catcher left behind.
And I was thinking, it’s a bit like vacuuming – a quick vacuum makes the house look so much neater. Even if you don’t do anything else.
I wonder if it’s something to do with fluffing up the pile. Or more likely, just picking up all the little bits of stuff that distract.
And it’s been quite windy recently, so there’s a lot of stuff to collect.
Including the dog poo…
Though I’m always a little sad when the lawn daisies get chewed up with the grass, though it never keeps them down for long.
If I’m honest, the lawn daisies were a big plus when we viewed the house, but I think for some people they’d be a big minus.
So until next time the lawn gets mowed. we’ll have to enjoy a freshly vacuumed carpet.
