It is, of course, bloody freezing as I start thinking about my 2025 summer wardrobe plan, and about all I can think about is fluffy slippers.

Though having said that, it was sweltering last week, so I should have started then. That and the ironing.

And of course, I was busy with things like the renovation (which I don’t seem to have written much about), so didn’t even think about clothes over summer last year. Which turned out well enough.

2023 Summer Plan Review/2025 Winter Recap

Still wearing black. That’s all good.

Haven’t taken the pre-mastectomy clothes to the dressmaker.

My feet have spread a little, so I may need a new every day summer shoe (aside from sneakers).

Stocked up on socks and jocks last season.

2025 Summer Wardrobe Plan

Budget

Let’s say $500 again because I don’t really want to commit to anything much.

Appropriateness

This year I’m coping with some corrective chest surgery, and I have some scars that need managing. I’ll most likely wear compression garments and my old soft t-shirts a lot of the time until the scars are healed properly. Which will probably take me through to winter again.

Style

More or less the same building blocks:

  • Colour: black.
  • Pattern: colour blocks.
  • Silhouette: While I still love a 1:3 ratio (longer legs and shorter waist), no boobs makes tops fall longer on the body, and unless I start buying shorter tops, I’m going to have to add tops to my list of automatic alterations.
  • Design Line: Post-mastectomy, I still prefer semi-fitted to fitted clothing, though I haven’t yet worked out what to do about my tops.
  • Texture: Light, soft and Smooth.

2025 summer wardrobe needs

I’m good for exercise clothes (track pants and t-shirts, dresses and bike pants).

Sneakers will probably see me through summer, but I’ll keep an eye out for winter.

2025 Summer Wardrobe Review

One thing’s for sure, less clothes means a quicker wardrobe review!

I have two dresses which are too big, and one that fits but is red, so I’m back to prioritising the alterations. I might dye the red dress, but sometimes it’s nice to have something that doesn’t soak up the sun much. And is a little different.

Two pairs of jeans, and four woven tops to go with them.

Rediscovered some new shoes in a larger size, so it looks like I was already on top of the spreading foot situation.

2025 summer wardrobe plan shopping list

So it’s another year I could probably get away without spending anything.

Aside from the alterations, and I’ve no idea how much they’ll cost.

Not buying anything suits me fine – we walked through the local shopping centre looking for a saute pan, and the idea of repeating the trek to find clothes exhausts me. Unless I hear crop tops are in, and then I’ll be down there lickety split.
