The end of the year is nigh…

There are two weeks left until the end of the year.

That’s two weeks to close out all those projects you had in mind as you started January.

I have to say almost nothing I planned has come to fruition, and I admit to being disappointed by that.

Though I wonder what it is that makes me think I’m a superhuman paragon of getting things done.

Especially after the year we’ve had.

And from that point of view, I’m glad we’ve reached the end of the year.

Almost as much during those covid years.

According to some astrological forecasts I’ve read, 2025 is shaping up to be a year of good relationships though perhaps not quite as good for getting things done.

While it is a little early for my traditional astrological scour of the new year horoscopes, I feel like the end of the year owes me something positive for next year.

So.

My task over the next two weeks is to finish what I can.

And where I can’t, decide what to jettison in favour of a new start for the new year.

At least the house is done. Hopefully for at least the next decade.

It was really sad to see the building without a floor.

Perhaps that’s why we’ve been unsettled – the literal absence of foundations.

However, the rats remain, unphased by all the work that’s gone on.

Maybe we need to be more like rats. To chill. Presumably not worrying over much about their housing situation.

I wonder if they invited any new rats to stay while the construction was going on.

And at least with summer, they’re taking their break outside…

Or maybe, the best thing to do, is pack all those resolutions and half-finished projects away along with the end of the year.

Try something I haven’t tried for the new year.

Like a new outlook to go along with the new habits I’m forced to cultivate.

Perhaps buy one of those toe separators that are following me around the internet at the moment. (Can’t help wondering why me).

Anyway.

It’s the end of the year. It’s time to close out and prepare for the next year. And I have a crap tonne of books sitting at home ready to read.

Essentially, I’ll be ignoring it until it happens.
