This is a combined July-August 2022 report, because quite frankly I’ve no idea why I didn’t do one in July. And I’m not going to bother this late.
I suppose because I caught so many lurgies in June, I carried them through to July as well. Spent a lot of time asleep – going to bed early, sleeping in, taking naps in the afternoon.
Though I managed to finish novellas 3 and 4 (of the 12 novellas in 12 months challenge).
And managed to read a few books – still 6 books ahead of my reading challenge schedule;
• Human Race • The Girl with the Make-Believe Husband • The Bridgertons • From Where You Dream • Be More Cat • So You Think You Know What’s Good for You? • It’s in His Kiss •
We managed to get away to the beach for a couple of days in late August, where we met a seal, and got caught in a hailstorm – not something I’d recommend. I think I could have stood another couple of days away.
Plus, I’ve wanted to learn more about ikebana, and had the chance to see a demonstation. Even better, she only lives a suburb away.
Goal Scoring
The score is a percentage; the times I did the keystone activity (most likely to produce the result) divided by the times I planned to. A “good” score is above 85%. I check in every week, but I’ll only note the averages here.
I didn’t really got off the ground, what with being sick and all that. Except of course as relates to writing and publishing.
Though at this point (week 10 this week), it’s time to start thinking about the next 12 weeks…
Goals | SCORE | NOTES |
#1: Stay Married to DB • Cook his favourite meals. • Do the chores that annoy him the most when they don’t get done. • Never move anything he puts down. | – | At a guess, I’d say there were more misses on the chores, and consequently more hits on the not moving things about. |
#2: lose 5.6 kg by July 3, 2022 • Eat smaller portions. • Don’t eat snacks. • No eating after 7 pm. | – | It’s a bit mixed, but on balance, probably not doing any of my keystone activities. |
#3: Stephen King Famous • Write 500 – 1,000 words every day. • Complete a novella each month. • Publish the novella the next month. | – | Didn’t write most of July, wrote barest minimum in August. But thanks to a couple of sprits finished novellas 3 and 4 (as mentioned). Precious little else. |
I was thinking the other day, that the key to getting it all done, is to get into habits. Or to put it more simply; do the same thing, at the same time, every single day.
Taking it a little further, to take Clever Girl out at the same time every day. Eat the same breakfast at the same time. Switch off the computer and pack up your desk at the same time.
Something to aim for in September, and across the next quarter. Snort!
And that was my July-August 2022! How did your go?
