Well, it’s August 2021, and I’m still here. Nothing much has changed since last month… Remember the good old days when something was always happening?

Still in lockdown. Still confined to quarters. Discovered the fascinating world of C-drama (Chinese). Just as well – I’m having trouble concentrating on any kind of book that’s more than about 100 pages – I’ve abandoned Game of Thrones for some time to come.

VirtueJulAugNotes
Beauty: body
I enjoy exercising my lean, healthy 59 kg body several times a week.
β€’ Eat < 5g of salt and sugar per day.
β€’ Walk 10,000 steps per day.
β€’ Sleep 8 hours each night.
β€’ Go vegetarian
πŸ™
67.1 kg
πŸ™‚
67.1 kg
Entered into a kind of lock-down madness, and ate my way to almost 69 kg, so this is an improvement. Though not as good as 65.8 kg.
My hair has nearly passed my shoulders now.
Beauty: garden
My garden is peaceful (lush and abundant, providing habitats, weather protection and a mystical threshold)
Q1&2: finish the plan and start landscaping/planting.
πŸ™‚πŸ™‚We’ve had a mix of sunny days; cold and clear as well as cold and rainy. I’m dying to go out and buy plants, but, lockdown.
Though I still get to enjoy the freshly mown lawn.
Beauty: home
I live in a comfortable home that soothes my soul.
πŸ™πŸ™‚Now that Clever Girl is older, she’s less prone to destroying things like socks and undies. Though she still loves a good cardoard box, and if I don’t keep an eye in her, she sneaks her bones in to gnaw in comfort.
Friendship: Friends
I love meeting new people, and as I am friendly and outgoing, I make friends easily.
β€’ Make some local writer friends.
πŸ™πŸ™‚Had a big rash of texts and emails to see how everyone is, so I’m feeling happier
Friendship: Creatures
My creatures are happy and healthy and find my garden a haven.
πŸ™‚πŸ˜Like me, Clever Girl has chunked on the weight. There is probably nothing worse than trying to put a Labrador on a diet.
Friendship: Contribution
I share my knowledge, time, and money with those who need it.
β€’ Write and publish stories.
πŸ˜πŸ™‚For the want of anything better, I started picking up rubbish when I’m out walking Clever Girl.
Wrote a hopeful Haiku, and enjoyed some Jellyfish action,
Pleasure: Recharge
Read 104 books
πŸ™‚πŸ˜Not doing too well on the reading – now 30 books behind, and it doesn’t look like I’ll be catching up any time soon.
β€’ Christmas Past β€’ Under the Cold Bright Lights β€’ Risk Forward β€’ Halloween Night On Monster Island β€’ Digging Up Dirt β€’
Wisdom: growth
I learn and grow every day.
β€’ Visit a historically or culturally significant venue or event each month.
πŸ˜πŸ™‚There’s more going on than my poor brain can deal with right now, so I researched bring forward systems. And manged a few business workshops.
Shared some facts on Sighing, and my gratitude for those working.
Wealth: time
Write 653,236 words to complete my first million fiction words.
πŸ™‚πŸ™‚I had to go into hospital for some tests, and was a bit sick so I broke my writing streak. Perhpas it might be wiser for me at the moment to concentrate on writing a story each week, and taking a day of rest.
Though I did get Unavoidable Fates finished and published.

Most of August 2021 in my productivity journal is devoted to setting up my eBookshop. It was quicker to set it up than to dismantle the other time sucking one.

We’ve moved into Spring – it’s a new season, and there’s a lot of good weather to look forward to. I’ll do some more pruning and preparing, but who knows when I’ll be planting.

What was your August 2021 like?
